Image Scanning Workstations - ImagePocketing on IDC/ME-2
INTEGRATED DOCUMENT CAPTURE at an Extraction workstation.
IDC/ME-2 with INFOPointe® production data statistics
What the IDC/ME-2 is:
This is an Image Scanning workstation for incoming mail. It is specifically designed for operations who wish to Extract/Prep individual envelope transactions (docs and/or unfolded pages) and immediately image scan them as they are easily grasped from our Triple Cut. This contrasts the usual practice of a 2-STEP process of first extracting and prepping batches of work and then separate image scanning of the pre-extracted batches. This is one of 4 different models that we offer customers that have decided that a touch-it-once process is better than two separate processes (I.e. first, EXTRACT/PREP and second, IMAGE SCAN as a separate process).
What differentiates this IDC/ME-2 from the IDC/ME-1 is the Image Scanner’s ability to do inline separation of CHECKS or PATCH SHEETS from OTHER (I.e. Unfolded-pages, Coupons, etc.).
So, if your operation is presently ENCODING CHECKS or is not likely to transition to CHECK
21 or the ARC’ing of CHECKS…then this model should be of interest to you.
If the previous point applies to your intended use and your group would likely image each transaction’s respective ENVELOPE, then continue this theme on transaction quality, to include the following consideration. Our 3-Sided opening feature allows you to flatten each envelope. This in turn, means that your Image Scanner’s DOUBLES DETECTION will not be compromised to accept an envelope that has been opened on just 2-Sides; and therefore ignored as a DOUBLE FEED. Don’t be fooled by responses such as ‘the Doubles Detect knows the difference between a 2-panel envelope and a double feed of either docs or pages.’ We can demonstrate the issue for you, if necessary. The inclusion of our INK JET PRINTER can allow your Image Software to see our printed Bar Code and automatically create your transaction boundary.
This model (IDC/ME-2) can handle both PAGES and CHECKS at 90 ppm on a duplex transport. This model does include a MICR READER option.
Your Image Vendor will find our XML file interface with EXIT HOOKS for Batch # assignment and check quality tests infinitely friendlier towards dovetailing into your existing platform. Form ID will allow for conventional use of CHECK followed by NON-CHECK transaction boundary creation or ENVELOPE recognition for boundary creation, if you correctly conclude that using an envelope as a means of automatically creating a transaction boundary would add a minimum of 2 extra seconds onto just your EXTRACT & PREP time frame.
