Triple Cut Series - 3 Sided Envelope Opener & Auto Stacker (opener, vs. extractor)
This Triple Cut model is primarily used by operations with extreme peaks and valleys in their incoming mail volume. For mail extraction/prep applications that involve COMPLEX / FOLDED-PAGE type work, as well as peak periods that might show heavy volumes either on a Quarterly or Seasonal basis – it becomes difficult to cost justify typical MAIL EXTRACTION WORKSTATIONS, when they sit relatively idle for 7 or 8 months out of a year.
Therefore, operations like this normally use tabletop or free-standing high speed SLICERS, MILLERS or SLITTER type machines to open their incoming mail on 1-side.
These machines are normally rated at close to 36,000 envelopes per hour – but it’s rare to witness an operator get more than 10,000 envelopes opened in one functional
hour, due to loading, sweeping & bundling of workable batches. Therefore, it’s reasonable to say, that just the high speed opening effort consumes a third to a half of a second per envelope.
Most sites with intermixed sized envelopes will JOG the mail prior to running it through any of the opening devices described above. If you JOG a tray of mail (e.g. 600 intermixed sized envelopes with 3.5 average pages/docs per envelope) for 3 minutes to minimize a CUT FOLDED DOCUMENT RATE (I.e. maybe a partial cut page every 100 envelopes), then the JOGGING effort consumes a third of a second…but you need to remember, JOGGING machines can be left alone while you tend to the loading, sweeping and batching of your high speed opener.
So, with the introductory comments just covered, once this mail is high speed opened on just 1-SIDE, workers must deal with 2 issues:
1) Physical effort of manipulating CONTENTS from the ENVELOPE PANELS; and
2) Being extra careful not to miss removal of 100% of the contents.
The primary purpose and objective for using the Agissar 3-SIDED ENVEL-OPENER with AUTO STACKER is:
1) MOTION REDUCTION - So you save up to 2 seconds per extraction effort (much easier to remove contents from an envelope opened on 3-SIDES versus 1-SIDE). No more pinching to remove contents.
2) WORK QUALITY - So you won’t inadvertently miss a complete extraction/removal effort once every 3,000 envelope transactions.
MACHINE THROUGHPUT:
If you are running just 1 size or relatively short envelopes (I.e. 7” in vertical width), then the feed rate is 4,100 envelopes per hour. But if you running intermixed sizes (closer to a #10 size), then your feed rate is closer to 3,700 envelopes per hour. If we take 85% of the 3,700 per hour rate, you’d be looking at 3,150 envelopes per hour, or roughly 1-second per envelope transaction.
BENEFITS BEYOND:
QUIET (68 dB)
SCALEABLE – We can field upgrade your 3-SIDE ENVEL-OPENER to become a MAIL EXTRACTION WORKSTATION, should your volumes and/or jobs change.
SMALL…it’s 32” x 40”
PORTABLE – the unit has 4 heavy-duty casters and can easily be moved for either cleaning and/or to another department. Also important to note…it’s not top-heavy.
UNIQUE & IMPORTANT TO KNOW OPTIONS:
Ink Jet Printer – Need a 3-Sided Opened & FLATTENED ENVELOPE to become your TRANSACTION BOUNDARY? This option will not only announce transaction separation to your Image Software, it offers a human readable barcode that can identify DATE, TIME, BATCH & SEQUENCE …should you want it. Keep in mind, that a flattened envelope will not test your Image Scanners ability to discern the difference between a DOUBLE FEED and just an envelope opened on just 1 or 2-sides.
Real-Time Volume Tracking of mail volumes running through the device and posting via our INFOPoll® Network software that can be run on your Server. So if your TREASURER wants to know in real-time, what volume has been opened by say 10:30am, he or she can always track incoming volumes in real-time.
Tall Envelope Opening - 6.5” vertical envelope height capability…Should you have the need to open envelopes beyond a 5” vertical height; and up to 6.5” – this option offers a wider range of 3-sided opening.
Thickness Detection &
Outsort – Should you choose to fast-lane just the THINNEST or GO-FAST TRANSACTIONS, so that during peak-periods you can process your easiest/fastest payments as a priority – in order to deposit more tax dollars faster…then this option has value.
